Nicaragua: The Newest Members of our Family

In August 2007, Arms of Love received several new children in Nicaragua, and has been receiving new children on an ongoing basis since its second home in Jinotepe opened earlier this year.

Jeffri
Jeffri Rodriguez-Blandón was recovered from the neighborhood "Villa Alemania."   The government was notified by members of the community who saw the child living alone on the streets, always hungry and with no adult companion.  Thus far, no relative has been found.

About seven years old, Jeffri knows he has been abandoned but does not remember how long he has been wandering around.  He is an extroverted boy, and already knows how to fight back if provoked.  Otherwise he is affectionate, respectful and obedient.  He is apparently strong willed but adaptable and has integrated very well at his new school.

Eugenio-Martin
Eugenio-Martín Pavón is a ten-year old boy who was was abandoned by his father, and his mother is a chronic alcoholic.  The government removed the child from his home when neighbors saw him living in abandonment, going continually hungry. Introspective and scared, it is easily perceived that Eugenio has not received very much affection.  However, he is already enrolled in school and has shown a very receptive attitude, quickly gaining acceptance and affection by his teachers.

Fabián-Antonio
Fabián-Antonio Pavón is the younger brother of Eugenio and comes to us from the same circumstances.  During his first few weeks with Arms of Love, he has adapted well both with the other children and with the staff in Jinotepe.  He is obedient and easy going, though also introverted and sometimes sad.  He is already enrolled in preschool, but he has never received any scholastic training and does not read or write.
